Tallinn não é a típica cidade turística europeia. Aliás, acho que quando 90% das pessoas pensa em Tallin simplesmente não consegue pensar em nada. Falo por mim, que quando tive o primeiro contacto com a ideia de ir até lá (há uns anos atrás, mas que nunca se concretizou) não sabia bem sequer se era mesmo a capital da Estónia ou da Letónia. Países que ficam lá longe, pequenos, ex-URSS e já toda a gente os confunde.
Depois do primeiro impacto (do “onde?”) e de ouvir alguns relatos, de descobrir que ficava apenas a uns 80 km de barco da Helsínquia, que havia low cost até lá e de alguns pormenores mais, entrou definitivamente na minha lista de lugares a visitar um dia.
Ia com uma ideia de uma cidade pequenina, perdida na idade média mas engraçada, e instalada no meio do frio.
Os lindos dias que fizeram ajudaram em muito a moldar a ideia inicial, sem dúvida que o centro histórico é totalmente medieval, mas muito vivo. Os edifícios são coloridos, a primavera dá uma alma incrível a cada recanto, cada ruela, a cada esplanada.
O centro desenvolve-se à volta de dois pontos principais, a praça da Cidade Velha onde se encontra o edifício da Câmara e a Catedral Nevsky, no topo da colina de Toompea.
Praça da Cidade Velha, a Câmara é o edifício em pedra que se vê na segunda fotografia. Com o bom tempo toda a praça fica inundada de esplanadas.
Catedral de Alexandre Nevsky, catedral ortodoxa que foi construída entre 1894 e 1900, durante o período em que a estónia fazia parte do Império Russo.
Fiquei com a memória de uma cidade viva e colorida, provavelmente uma ideia muito diferente daquela que a cidade tem para oferecer durante o Inverno.
