O que ver e fazer em Macedo de Cavaleiros
Durante este mês de Agosto pus-me de novo a caminho de Trás-os-Montes, desta vez para explorar melhor o concelho de Macedo de Cavaleiros. Já por lá tinha andado em duas outras ocasiões para visitar amigos e para eventos sociais, mas o lado turístico ficou sempre de fora. Desta vez foi diferente, portanto aqui ficam as minhas sugestões sobre o que ver e fazer em Macedo de Cavaleiros.
Albufeira do Azibo
São provavelmente o maior cartão postal do concelho, as praias fluviais da Albufeira do Azibo. Há duas praias com boa infraestrutura nas margens do azibo, com areia branca, zonas concessionadas e vigiadas, águas calmas e quentinhas, bar/restaurante de apoio. São a minha primeira sugestão neste post, mas que recomendo que deixem para o fim da visita, como eu fiz – é o local ideal para relaxar depois de uns dias de passeio na região. O fim de férias perfeito, de molho.
Ainda na Albufeira, não devem perder o miradouro de Santa Combinha, com as melhores vistas para a mancha de água criada pela construção da barragem – fotografia de capa neste post.
Podence
Bem, chegada aqui, ponderei retirar o título de maior cartão-postal do concelho ao Azibo, heheh, porque é difícil alguém nunca se ter cruzado com a imagem de um dos famosos caretos de Podence. Apesar desta tradição do Entrudo estar associada a toda a região de Trás-os-Montes, sem dúvida que os mais famosos da região são os de Podence. E todos os carnavais atraem milhares de pessoas à região.
Durante o resto do ano é possível conhecer a pequena aldeia, sempre decorada de forma alusiva ao tema, e visitar o museu dos caretos, onde podem ver de perto alguns dos fatos tradicionais.
GeoPark Terras de Cavaleiros
É uma das mais recente atrações do concelho – enquanto Geopark reconhecido com os trilhos e geossítios sinalizados e visitáveis – já que a Natureza e os fenómenos naturais já lá estavam há muito 🙂
O umbigo do mundo (em Morais) é um dos mais conhecidos mas para o visitarem terão de agendar uma visita guiada com especialistas que vos mostrarão o local, no entanto muitos dos outros geossítios são facilmente acessíveis e podem lá chegar por vossa conta. Eu visitei o Poço dos Paus e a Fraga da Pegada mas o que mais me encantou foi pegar no carro e conduzir (quase) sem destino ao longo das estradas do Geopark, a cada curva vão encontrar um motivo para parar e ótimos cenários para as mais belas fotografias da viagem. Centro da cidade
É o local mais fácil para se alojarem e para servir de base de apoio à viagem. O centro é agradável e facilmente acessível a pé. Podem tirar a fotografia da praxe junto ao recém inaugurado letreiro de Macedo – que fica iluminado à noite. E conhecer o pequeno museu de Arte Sacra, no centro da cidade.
Gastronomia transmontana
Chegamos ao momento mais aguardado do post. A comida. A gastronomia transmontana é sempre uma boa aposta, e acreditem que vinda do Alto-Minho isto só pode ser um elogio. É verdade que não é tão variada, e eu teria dificuldade em aguentar muito tempo longe do peixe fresco, mas para quem vai de férias está mais do que perfeito. Acho que comi vitela mirandesa a todas as refeições, kkk, em costeletão, em posta, em bifinhos. You name it. Mas ainda há os enchidos, hummmm… e os cogumelos. Enfim, foi comer, chorar por mais, e ainda vir abastecida para casa.
Estas ideias, sobre o que ver e fazer em Macedo de cavaleiros podem facilmente preencher um fim-de-semana. A melhor altura para visitarem a região será na Primavera ou no Outono para que não apanhem temperaturas extremas, mas no Verão podem sempre aproveitar para ir a banhos.
