Roteiro de três dias (intensos!) em Manhattan, Nova Iorque.
Interrompemos a programação habitual do blogue par da um saltinho até aos EUA. Este post surgiu por duas razões, tenho uma amiga em viagem até lá no próximo mês e acontece-me sempre de me pedirem dicas daqui ou dali e eu pensar “Ah, ainda não fiz um roteiro dessa cidade, shame on me!“. e depois porque o dia não podia ser mais apropriado, hoje há eleições nos EUA e amanhã ao acordar não sabemos o mundo que nos aguarda.
Eu sou pessoa optimista e estou convencida que a Hilary vai ganhar, porque ainda acredito na humanidade, e acho que os americanos normais devem estar em maior número que os cromos que ainda têm a mania que são cowboys.
Mas como isto pode ser um pensamento meio naif e amanhã estamos todos a pensar como emigrar para Marte, aqui fica o meu roteiro – porque antes de emigrar apressem-se a ir até NY que a administração Obama só dura até Janeiro. (update 11.09.2017: claramente naif!)
Portanto, e depois deste prólogo, aqui fica o roteiro de três dias non-stop em Manhattan:
Dia 1 – Lower Manhattan
O primeiro dia vai começar mesmo na pontinha de Manhattan, no Battery Park, onde podem apanhar o barco até à Estátua da Liberdade. As vistas mais incríveis de todas são mesmo durante a viagem, tanto para a cidade, como para a estátua em si, por isso deve ser mais ou menos chegar lá, dar uma volta e apanhar novo barco de regresso.
Chegados de novo ao Battery Park comecem a percorrer as ruas da cidade, aqui podem passar por Wall Street, pela bolsa de valores e pelo famoso touro – óptimo para tirar fotos, eu não mostro a minha que não faço figuras tristes na net! 🙂 – pelo Ground Zero, quando lá estive em 2011 a Freedom tower ainda estava em obras, mas hoje podem já tentar entrar no memorial às vítimas do 09.11.
Daqui a sugestão é continuar a subir ‘a ilha’ mais um pouco até à Brooklyn Bridge, as melhores fotos podem tirá-las a partir do Pier 17, o melhor local para relaxar um pouco, e depois tentar percorrer parte da ponte a pé. Principalmente aos fim-de-semana vão encontrar imensos nova-iorquinos a correr ou andar de bicicleta por lá.
Porque outra instituição da cidade (se calhar não) é o China town e fica já aqui ao lado, se quiserem mesmo aquela carteira que custa 5000 euros para não têm os 5000 euros para dar, estão no sítio certo, se não curtem o mercado negro, não faz mal, só observar o movimento louco das ruas já vale a visita.
Podem acabar o dia a jantar pelo SoHo.
Dia 2 – Midtown
Uma das áreas que ganhou vida nos últimos tempos foi o distrito de Chelsea, provavelmente pela reabilitação da High Line, a antiga linha de metro em altitude, que provavelmente viram em centenas de filmes é agora um jardim suspenso com vários quilómetros. Comecem o dia por aí e pelo renovado bairro de Chelsea, pelo seu mercado e ruas adjacentes.
De lá venham finalmente até à 5th Ave e comecem a percorrê-la na zona do Flatiron building. Passem pelo Empire (lá voltaremos!) até à Biblioteca Nacional, que vale a visita. E voltem a abandonar a 5th Ave, desta vez em direcção ao outro lado, vão passar pela Central Station (tem mesmo de entrar!), pelo Chrysler Building e acabar junto ao rio nas Nações Unidas, que também permite visitas ao parlamento.
O fim do dia é para voltar à 5th Ave e deixar o sol se pôr para poder subir ao Empire State Building. Oh, mas nós queríamos ver a cidade de dia. Calma, vai haver mais oportunidades. Asseguro-vos que de noite também é uma vista do outro mundo! Vale a fortuna que custa lá subir (22 dólares a última vez que fui!)
Dia 3 – Uptown e Central Park
O último dia de roteiro não é em nada o pior, bem pelo contrátio, tem direito a alguns dos ícones mais conhecidos da cidade. Porque vocês também vão querer ver a cidade de dia, sugiro que comecem pelo Rockfeller Center e que subam até ao último piso. Para além de verem o próprio Empire, há ainda a vista do Central Park que é linda.
Depois disso sugiro que vão passeando nas calmas o que vos resta da 5th Ave, podem dar um saltinho ao Moma, à catedral de ST. Patrick, e acabar no Central Park. Se o São Pedro colaborar o passeio aqui vai render imensas fotos, podem fazer o parque até ao Met, e voltar a sair passando pelo Guggenheim para depois se embrenharem no Upper East Side e ver a vida dos ricos passar (hello Gossip Girl!).
Mais para o fim do dia, e quando as luzes tem um maior impacto, voltem até à zona de Times Square e da Broadway. Acho que dispensa muitas palavras, mas vai requerer muitos flashes
