O factor limitante de qualquer viagem no Inverno, principalmente para o Norte da Europa, é o tempo médio de sol por dia. Já vos contei
aqui o flop que foi ir a Hallstatt e ainda estávamos em Outubro, pois que ir à Irlanda em Dezembro torna tudo muito pior. A vantagem é que não há como não estar a contar com a situação por isso acabamos por tentar fazer todos os passeios o mais cedo possível e sobraram dois fins de dia (a partir das quatro) para conhecer o centro de Belfast e passear pelo mercado de Natal. E se nos dias de sol aberto ainda há um lusco-fusco, nos dias enevoados é o breu total.
Não deixa de ser bonito, principalmente nesta época de Natal, as decorações e as luzinhas ajudam a dar um ar mais agradável, mas às vezes gostava de um bocadinho de luz para tirar umas fotografias mais giras, ou mesmo para me pôr na frente de alguma foto, porque pessoas sem luz é o fim de qualquer tentativa de foto, até respirar a deixa tremida.
Gostei de passear nesta zona da cidade, havia uma série de ruas comerciais animadas, com lojas abertas e muita gente dum lado para o outro – ser sexta e sábado deve ter ajudado – o jardim em frente ao Cityhall tinha sido inteiramente vedado para pôr a funcionar um mercado de Natal bem giro, com barraquinhas de vários países com comidinhas típicas e decorações de natal em tudo quanto era lado. Os Irlandeses aderiram em massa e saíram à rua com o seus ugly Christmas Jumpers para comer e beber de tal maneira que nas horas mais concorridas havia fila de espera para entrar no mercado. Já se sabe que sou fã de qualquer mercado de Natal, mas este de Belfast surpreendeu-me bastante pela positiva, talvez porque não estava a contar que fosse tão típico e porque vinha de Dublin onde não havia nada de especial em termos de decorações natalícias.
